Default Is this oil ok for CDTi 150...?

I realise this has been done to death but I can't seem to find the threads that discussed which oils were best.

Is this stuff ok or would the Vx 05w30 be just as good on my 87k 150?

Well it was just the bumph about emissions and DPFs that caught my eye...

Castrol EDGE Turbo Diesel 0W-30 is a product designed to work with Diesel Engines to clean exhaust systems and reduce emissions.
This product meets the latest requirements of BMW petrol and diesel engines and is approved to meet latest BMW LL04 specs.

Castrol EDGE Turbo Diesel works with engines fitted with particle filters and prevent blocking. Plus this product is based on new low SAPS technology (Suphated Ash, Phosphorus and Sulphur).

If the Castrol oil meets the relevant GM spec for that engine - the spec should be detailed in the owners handbook for all engines - then AIUI, it should be OK.

The wording indicates it's OK and as long as it actually quotes the GM specs, either on the Castrol website, the oil can or both, under those circumstances, it should meet the particle filter spec. If it doesn't quote the spec anywhere though, personally I would think twice - a few quid now is better than a new DPF somewhere down the line. I wonder how many DPF failures have been caused by dealerships using the wrong oil at sometime during servicing?
