Default Guys. Exhaust help please!!! Before I petrol bomb my dealer!

I have a leak from the flexipipe section in the front pipe of my exhaust. I have a 54plate 1.9 CDTI 16v and yes I have spent a LOT of money on it sorting out EGR valves, injector 3 issues, alternator, and so on. If I could afford to I would drive it straight to the local salvage yard and then pay them to let me watch while they trash it.

    But I digress.

the dealer explained to me that they could replace this front pipe at a cost of about £150 and ordered me the part. but oh no - on my particular car the front pipe is welded to the cat and that singular part is £650 fitted. so I'm f**ked basically, especially if that leak becomes a deafening split that threatens to drown out her-indoors sat in the passenger seat.

It seems the more common set up is a cat and seperate front pipe (as shown to me in diagram by the dealer) which makes sense - mine appears to be awful design, why fix an expensive non-consumable part to an exhaust forcing owners to have to fork out for the lot just to replace a chunk of exhaust. Seriously I could kill someone............
.So I'm thinking my options are to either find somewhere that will possibly replace just the flexipipe section (???) or a salvage yard that has the whole caboodle?? I have found full aftermarket systems (duplex etc.) for a lot less than £600 but they don't include the front pipe??
I just want to shut the thing up and it not bankrupt me.

I had same problem matey(split in the flexi), you can buy new flexi from either ebay or Andrew Pages & either cut the old one out & clamp new one on or like i did have the new piece welded on. price for flexi @ Andrew Pages is around £65.00

Jeez Stewart - flexy's are about £50ish plus maybe a bit for labour. Well they were when I had my GSi done @ MIJ Performance in Walsall, West Mids.

Thanks for the advise chaps. Apologies but I'd literally just got back from the garage and was feeling slightly browned off as you do when you feel like you're over a barrel.
So I had a bit of a rant!
I am unfortunately known amongst mates as 'Angry Stu'

I'll look into this stuff. Cheers
