Reversing lights getting brighter with engine speed/revs?

Hi guys

I've noticed the last few times when i've been reversing that my reversing lights increase in brightness with engine speed.

I'm not brilliant with all this stuff but from what I know, sounds like alternator or a bad earth? Sound right?

I have no battery light on so guessing its not the alternator so what earths should I be checking?

Also, would a bad earth be the cause of an intermittent starting problem?

I think you will find thery all do it. The electro/numatic (or whatever you call it) power steering will take a good drain on the altornator on slow revs. Have you noticed the "info" screen go dim when you turn the wheels at low revs, you will even see the headlights go dim too. So you might not have a problem. But best to put a meter on the battery to check it.

I've thought along the same lines as that too but it does it even when stationary and not turning the wheels. Everything else that is 'lit' doesn't have the same noticable problem.

Will try to to find someone with a battery meter .......
