    Default Decoding pairing cdc40?

Ok I have a cdc40 with paired screen trouble is the changer is fooked! so I bought another cdc40 with the intention of stripping out the changer and putting it in the paired set, but they have diffrent internals, one is made by grundig the other is blaupunkt.

    Right the questions

can I swap the chagers over tho they are diffrent (prob not)
is there any way to get the donor cdc40 to work with the display? they do work together but display safe is on the screen.

I do not have any codes for them or the car they came from, any info apreciated

    thanks Ronnie

Once you get the code for the HU it will be paired with the same code to the GID, enabling you to de-pair both

Cheers Don, do you need to send the hu or just give them serial no, once that's done also would need tech? need to balance up the cost to see if its worth it.

    cheers Ronnie

My cd40 had a U/S cd changer, I bought a 2nd hand cd40 that was in need of a decode from a seller on ebay. I was able to separate the changer from the tuner on my own unit and replace it with the changer from the ebay unit. I am sure it was something like four screws and a plug in ribbon cable and in next to no time it was all back in the dash and working. The thing is I didnt notice if both cd40 units were the same make.

Thanks for that, thats what I intended to do, the changers are not the same one is Blaupunkt the other is Grundig, the ribbon cable is the same idea, and maybe it would work, if both units were physically the same I would have no hesitation trying it! everything inside is diffrent.

    cheers Ronnie
