    Default O/S Front suspension again!

Wife phoned up saying that the cars was banging in this area.

Had a quick spin and you could just about feel it on the pedals as it clonked about. Had a quick look and all seems ok (although very difficult to see on the floor) so drove over a speed hump and then again a big clonk. Next hump again a big clonk so hit the next hump @ about 30mph and clonking then stopped. We do drive slow over the bumps normally.

    Question:
The nylon sleeves that they fitted do they wear over about 15K. Car has since had the front suspension removed and inspected again about 9K ago.

    Quesion 2:
Cars that I've taken the suspension off before have a pivot bearing part that goes between strut top plate and inner wing. This means that the spring and strut turn together and do not dislocate. What have the C's got @ the top of the plate.

Anyone got a parts/assembley picture of the strut please, maybe from the TIS ( I think). Would also like the rear pics aswell

    Cheers

    M

Just checked and the O/S front anti-roll bar link top ball joint has a split in the rubber, still looks clean when pulling it back. This would not cause the big clonk but I will replace.

Anyone have actual part nos and are they retail around a £10 each?
Are the roll bar bushes that cheap, if so does it have 3 or 4 bushes?

    Cheers guys

When they are on the car any wear in the joint is not noticeable, even if they're completely shot..when they are off the car any wear is realy apparent

Cheers Mark would appreciate, guy on ebay doing them 4 £8.99 + £4del but not original parts. Might as well get V/X ones and the two bushes.

Loads of stress on them bushes only having one per side although they look ok, but like you say its hard to see on the car.

minimal play in the bushes in enough to let the bar move..I just threw them in the order to VX as they are only a couple of quid..they and the links did the job..
