Default Replacing CD30 with Kenwood DPX503U

Cut me a lot of slack... I'm new here and to the Vectra scene.

After having bought the car, later realising the stereo is very basic, I'm after getting rid of the dreaded CD30 unit in favour of a Kenwood
DPX503U... for CD-RW playback, Bluetooth and iPod connectivity. Assuming it will fit in the space left behind by CD30.

Does anyone have this system in their car? If so, could you post some pictures, so I can see if its definitely compatible.

I love my car and a better sound system would make the drive all the more sweet.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi matey,

Yip it is compatable and will fit in the gap left behind by the CD30. There are a few things you should be aware of though.

You will require a Facia kit, this fills the odd shapped hole and leaves you just the double din square for your new stereo.

The next thing is you do realise that the new stereo you are thinking of doesn't actually have bluetooth as standard and you'd have to purchase a Kenwood 'add on' bluetooth kit (KCA-BT200) for it at an additional expense? Further to this you would have to buy a further Kenwood 'add on' steering wheel control unit (CAW-OP7060) if you would like your current steering wheel controls to work at a further addtional expense? For the unit you mentioned the bluetooth and steering control box are 'OPTIONS' and not standard nor built in.

For the cost of the 'add ons' you would require you may be able to pick up a better head unit with them built in as standard for about the same price or even cheaper??

Have a look at these couple of links and you'll get a better understanding. Have a read through and click on the links provided in them pages.

I can see why you want this unit mate. I currently have the DPX-501U in my motor and plan to upgrade to the 503 next month (the display has packed up on the 501 ). Excellent head units imo and very easy to use

Hi i'm new to. i've just got a Pre-facelift (53 reg) SRi with i'm guessing the standard cd player in it. i have an after market dvd screen and that i had from my astra but i want to leave it standard. i've seen on ebay a CD30 MP3 unit from a new astra. will this fit my vectra? or what other vauxhall units can i use what are better than mine now.

    Thanks.

Ufortunatly your car will be a pre-facelift half canbus car, the cd30 etc are full can bus stereos and are a bit complicated to fit. Probably better off fitting an aftermarket stereo mate
