    Default Lotus Exige or VX220

Which is the better motor of these two?

Both totally different cars or not? Is the Exige based on the **** Rover engine or is this the one with the Toyota engine?

    Any opinions? Rides or anything?

    Cheers!

Lotus development apparently got some amazing performance out of the 180 lump in development. Tuned down to prolong engine life and warrently claims.

My mate has a VX220 2.0T and before he got it, he looked at the Exige but couldnt justify the extra £'s to buy it. Also the parts are soooo much dearer on the Exige. A VX220 service is still under £200, Vectra money I think he said. So much cheaper to run. But apparently the Exige handles better because its even lighter then the VX220

I wouldn't have pitted the two against each other - the VX is matched against the Elise surely - the Exige is a step up in performance, and a step down in refinments....

Personally - a TVR, but I always say that....
