Pickup my first veccy on Tuesday!

She's a '07 CDTi SRi 150 with 86k on the clock, silver - just the colour I was looking for believe it or not - and she has the X pack with the vxr wheels - also what I was after. I'll try and get some photos up when I get her.

She has just been serviced and has recently had the clutch/DMF replaced. I paid £5600 for her which seems like a bargain to me, but time will tell.

Now with 86k, I believe the factory warranty has expired so I would like to get a third-party warranty and was wondering if anyone here could recommend one?

I'm sure I read about a Tescos one or summit but can't find it now though. I don't mind paying £20-£25 a month for piece of mind.

Yeah I was pretty lucky with the price I think. Pics will be forthcoming once I get her on Tues. The wheels have been quite badly curbed apparently, so I imagine that will be the first job to sort.

Congrats on what sounds like a lovely motor!

Regarding mileage though, as a first time Vectra owner myself my 56 plate (registered Jan 07) had 48000 miles on when I bought it. I don't know a lot about these cars as yet, but is 86k a lot for these cars in such a short space of time?

This is not a criticism of the car you will be getting, just a general question on the longevity of the Vectra brand. After saying that the service history should be extensive with that sort of mileage with any problems, or wear and tear items sorted.

Yeah the mileage was a sticking point for me as I was initially looking for a 60k example, but this one appears to have been well looked after, even though it's a company car it's the guys own company and he says he's really enjoyed having it and he's selling it because the warranty has expired.

@Diet1985: I've gone and bought a Tescos warranty for peace of mind, thx for the heads up !

@chrisvectra: that's a pretty good price too, I was thinking about a pre facelift for just that reason but I really wanted a facelift. Fussy ****** I know!

@MultiDropper: thanks mate and a fair point but for me 100k is the point at which a car becomes proper high mileage, the way I look at this one is that well, at least it's only 2.5 years old. I've seen a few of these kicking around at 130k+ which claim to be in tip top condition, which does say a little about longevity. Depends how it's been looked after I suppose, like any car.
