Default Vectra 2.0 Diesel engine warning light

    Hi,
Ive got a vectra 2.0 diesel just done 85k on the clock,
Ive recently been losing revs where its limited to 2750 and very sluggish getting there and getting the spanner warning light on the dash,
Anybody know what it could be or could it be a multitude of issues,

    Cheers G

Car/spanner light - engine electronics, autobox (if fitted) and immobiliser fault light.

Your car has gone into limp home mode. You need to get the fault code(s) read out.

Could be the boost hoses or vacumm pipes split or possibly the boost sensor but really you need to have the fault codes read.

The codes are usually only stored for up to 10 ignition key entries, so looks like you left it too long
Next time it happens, take your car straight to a VX dealership and prepare to part with up to £60 just for the codes to be read
However you can usually haggle and have them deduct this as part of the overall repair cost (How can you repair the car without the diagnosis)

I had the same thing and it turned out to be my EGR valve, I cleaned it and it still went into limp mode and spanner light, I ended up replacing it with a new one at a cost of £214 and 10 minutes to fit myself. No problems since.

    Good luck

Not a clue then, parked the car up Sat and took it to the garage today so if what your sayings right the codes should have still been there.
