Think my 2.2direct likes a drink of petrol!!!!!

can anyone help? the fuel consumption on the car is making me ill, it started a couple of months ago at 33.4 regular, the car got mot'd but got pulled on a blowing exhuast from one of the joints, fixed with the new clamp, but thats when the mpg started going daft, dont know if its related but seems a bit strange? ive cleaned all the air intakes, sticking throttle and a service, im now down to 22.3, there are no lights on the dash and still drives well, I started enjoying the car after the drop links were changed, its starting to cost a fortune now the price of fuel has gone up again, but we wont start with that one,
Please help if you can?

Reset the computer first mate, pop in a new air filter and take it from there. The computer can give some very false readings so a reset is always good.

Maybe a tank of SUL might give it a clean as well.
