Default Eibach - Camber & Toe????

Okay here it is - NOT A HAPPY CHAP.

Now I've had my eibach springs and blistien B4 shocks on for a short while now. They are absolutely superb and am over the moon with them by the way.

The problem is, as the shocks and springs have been on for a while and have had plenty of time to settle in I decided to get a 4 wheel alignment. I searched down a place that had the Hunter alignment kit so it could properly set up all the geometry for the car now it's been lowered. I found a place in Perth off www.alignmycar.co.uk (45miles away) so I booked myself in and off I went.

Once the car was on the ramp all the Hunter kit was fitted and readings were taken, on seeing the technician guy plug away on the computer I noticed he put the car as normal suspension. I then piped up and said it has had Eibach springs fitted which will have lowered the car by about 30mm, this is why I'm having the 4 wheel alignment done. The technician then said he only has settings for normal, sports and another setting (which I cant remember) but basically there was 3 settings.

The technician then asked me if I knew what the camber and toe angles should be set to for the Eibach springs for the car (like really going to know that eh?). So that was that, a quick end to my Hunter 4wheel alignment experience. He did give me a print out of what the car is settings currently are though.

The big question is what should the rear and front camber and toe angles be with Eibach springs having lowered the car 30mm?? I hope someone knows?

When I went the guy was switched on and we spoke about what I wanted and he just mentioned making it sensible so it didn't scrub tyres etc. He done all the allignment set-ups at the shop(Star Performance in Fife) and my tyres are wearing great a year and a half on.

You won't be able to adjust the front camber unless you bought the camber adjustement bolts(Eibach-available from LMF) though

I did pick up a set of the Camber Adjustment Bolts, so all should be fine. Just need to try and find out either someone that knows what they are really doing or find out the angles required.

I'm no expert but when it's lowered it usually alters the camber/caster. Ordinarily you have it set back to standard. You may want a little extra neg camber for fast road use but maybe only another 0.5=1.0 degree. I would discuss this with a reputable vx tuning company who could advise on a good set up.

Feel free to use these if you want to. Mine is running H&R springs with B4's which are marginally lower, but no difference when it comes to settings. After fitting the front camber bolts the settings were way out and the rear camber is fully adjusted to it's maximum positive.

Thanks for the info, I'll do a print and take it with me, I've just emailed Star Performance to see whether or not they'll be able to do it. I also explained my failed attempt by Perth.

The guys at Star are great, had a couple of RR days there with ClubVS and they run a very tight ship and know what they're talking about. Give them a ring tomorrow and see what he says

Here are my current settings, nothing has been changed since the springs were put on (they did not change the anything at Perth).

I have an SRi set up to sri camber settings (duh i know). I fitted eibach springs and new michelin tyres(on the front)and i've done around 4k since then and the fronts are worn completly even. The rears are worn about 0.5mm more on the inside than the rest of the tyre but they were worn before i lowered it.

Have you got bad tyre wear Bri? Does it handle oddly as i wouldn't bother if neither of the above. I'll get mine done when the rear tyres need replaced bbut only for the fact they are wearing.

How much do star take for full allignment btw???
