go to a vx dealer they can suply you with a different type spring set up and you wont need to remove the pedal box its a 10 min fit .... cover comes of with the three screws along the bottom edge the two screws under the colum cowl pointing at you and one under the head lamp switch in the top ...

I think Benny is probably referring to the one you have changed, to be honest mate if your pedal is now returning to the top as it were after fitting the spring and your CC is working ok, I would leave well alone as this could lead to more trouble than it's worth.
    To remove the pedal cover:

    1. remove light switch, by switching to position '0' then push the knob in and whilst holding it in, turn it to the central position, this locks the switch and allows it to be pulled out and the wiring harness can then be removed if needs be.

    2. A screw (torx) should now be seen in the light switch recess, remove this.

    3. The lower panel (covers the pedal area so to speak) has a sort of tray on as it were and there are 2 torx screws recessed in there remove these

    4. another 3 torx screws under the lower edge of the panel

5.. Pull the panel away and move to one side
    Cheers Pete

FYI, just edited my last post as missed a point out!!
As far as seeing the broken one , on mine I couldn't see it at all if I remember correctly but I believe it's supposed to be located to the right of the pedal/shaft, sort of coils around the shaft if you see what I mean. does your pedal still not return to the top then?
    Cheers Pete

it does raise the clutch pedal to where it should be and cc works again but the clutch feels really soft when you use it where as before it was nice and firm
