    Default Replacing Head Unit

    Hi All,

Been thinking about replacing my head unit now that I've got my sub fitted and I've got bass in reserve!

I've been looking at the Kenwood KDC W534.

That's 4 x 28W RMS - will that be louder than my current CDR2005? Also, will it improve on the distortion that I seem to get on my CDR2005 when I crank it a bit or is this more likely to be the speakers?

    TIA,

    Adam

I've changed my cdr2006 for a jvc mp3/wma player with a 4x50w peak output the difference in sound quality is awesome and the speakers seem to be able to handle the unit being turned up quite high.

The speakers in the C are pretty damn good for factory units, try a after market head unit first, this will make a huge difference.

Is it noticeably louder or just clearer?

Anyone got any idea what wattage the speakers are rated at?

watts is not 2 important. You can have 50w speakers and easily run 100+w of clean power into them.

Agree that the standard units are very good. On my 2013 my only complaint is its a bit wooly in the vocals but that is being picky for stock stuff and prob. the headunit which I can't change.

Looks like I'm parting with some cash over the next couple of weeks then!

Is it best to get the fascia adaptor from VX or are the fleabay ones okay?

I'll then need to get an adaptor for my steering controls / display - did you buy one for your Kenwood?

    Thanks All,
    Adam
