Could be the head gasket. Is your oil still black? check the top of your cap. Like you say it could be your turbo. maybe injectors.
Treat it for a full service, warm it up nicely and drive it like you stole it. DTI's shouldn't smoke.
my 2.0 Dti done this 6 months ago it turned out to be the intercooler pipe so upgraded it for a silicone one and the smoke screen following me was gone.
thanks for replies its not the head gasket, well doesnt seem to be no coolent loss,no sludgy oil, does any one no if injector seals fail can oil somehow get back to the tank just checked the diesel quality and it looks black oily?
Is it hard to start the car? If so this would point to injector seal/leak off problems.
I guess some oil could get through the seal and work its way back to the tank. Have you changed the fuel filter recently? Greyish smoke is usually unburnt diesel, it might be worth getting a compression test done if all else fails. I guess you have done the checks on the boost hoses etc?
If it's hard to start, park it facing down a hill, it should start easier if air is getting in at the injectors.
What's the fuel comsumption like daveybuc,it may be on regen.
