    Default General warranty question....

How long are exhausts covered for under warranty??

My dad has a Citroen C1 and today the back box is basically fubbered and is nearly hanging off, obviously it has a 3 year warranty but the car is 2 and a half years old but I've never known of an exhaust to go so early on in its life.

    Would you think its covered??

I would expect so, ans I would also have expected it to have lasted longer min of 5 years?

had a new toyota verso, had a 3 year warranty, when it went in for service, the only thing i ever paid for was... brake pads and tyres, more or less everything else is covered, extended it to 5 years, again they honoured the lot, 40k and just under 5 years the exhaust started blowing, is suspect due to underside damage caused prob be me. Toyota just changed it, no questions or arguements, then gave me another 5 years on the new one!, and always being treated very well as a CUSTOMER....

So assuming most car stealers follow suit, yes its covered.

Ah good, well I'll take a look when the car is back to see where its gone etc, sounds like its gone on a weld at the side of the rear box.

    you can only ask...

the only firm i found which was a a unpleasant to deal with for warranty was F**d, had a few company motors and made the mistake of buying a year old one once.. they always have a response/excuse why it isnt covered.

Most use a reasonable use policy, if you broke it its your fault, 50/50 we may replace it, most if in doubt will do a warranty claim. espcially if you go there often.

    good luck!

You can only ask but it depends what warranty is on the ehxaust. If its not covered, just pop down to the toy shop for a new one
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Thats not great for a factory exhaust but having had pug/citroens from new as lease cars its not that unusual. No harm in trying your luck with a claim.

I believe the exhaust is only covered in the first year
Replacments are also usually only 1 year
