Default Second set of bolts snapped!!

Well after my first set of VX bolts lasted 4 years my second new hardened type didn't even last 1 go a taking the wheel off . A real pain in the rear as by now most of you have found out. I was planning to fit pad sensor and paint the calipers today. Anyhow after getting the right part number from a thread Diet posted in I have some nice McGard ones coming from good old ebay for an £12 saving on over the counter price. Just need to get these VX nasties off now.

    Thats not good is it?

Hope the new ones last a little longer, I don't bother with lock nuts as my wheels are not worth stealing at the moment, but I'll see Diet when I do need a set.

Never got the honour of breaking mine as I lost the key and had to get an engineer company to take the bolts out. Wasn't too bad though at £40 and I was getting 4 new boots fitted that day as well LOL

i presume if your snapping these you are going well overboard or tyre fitters are ????, should only be 110 nm thats no where enough to snap them.

its because vx make the keys/nuts out of a similar grade metal to marzipan!!
