    Default help please!!!

    Hi guy's
Just been told my timing chain broke, but from the threads on here i am not sure, have had a listen to the one on z22se site and didn't sound like that at all, have only had car a week and warranty paperwork not gone through yet so unable to put in for repair.
Do they always sound the same before going or can they go without notice?
Car is a 2.2 direct 06 with 69k on it btw
    Any thoughts apprieciated

I think that it would be fairly obvious to most competent mechanics that your camchain has "broken".

I assume that the engine isn't running! ?

It seems that yours may have skipped the 'Are you going to do something about this noise?' stage and gone straight to the 'That's it! I've had enough of this!' stage.

I was told this about my last 2.2 - I took a look myself and the tensioner had failed.
I was lucky the chain didnt jump tho...

The tensioned is located at the rear of the engine, in line with the cam chain and at the top of the cylinder head, think its a 32mm head ! Hope this is the case !

thanx m8 but i'm not mechanically minded at all.
