    Default "Silver" Indicator Bulbs

Hey there. Just put in a new pair of silver indicator bulbs but to be honest I'm less than impressed. There's still a considerable amount of orange showing through on the reflectors. I don't know whether its because they were just a cheapie pair off ebay or whether it's very sunny this morning.

    Before:

    After:

Is this as good as these bulbs get or should I return them and go for a pair of more expensive osrams or something?

PS, sorry about the mess, was doing my airbox mod at the time!!

IMO, anything visual you get what you pay for... its ok to buy cheap LED'S that are hidden away etc but i'd pay the extra for those...

Look up led's tho, i had led side repeaters on my astra. plain looking led but bright yellow when on, dont know if you can get yellow standard sized led bulbs, i've seen pleanty red ones however on ebay so prob worth a search...

mine were cheap but completly smoked and have no orange showing through ... sometimes they only smoke the front of the bulb - try finding a bulb that shows the whole bulb smoked or tinted

    Something like these you mean?

Didn't even consider leds. Might send them back and get some of these instead, also some side repeaters.

    Thanks for your advice!

The ones I got were these

They looked fine in the pic but when I opened the packet this morning, like you said, only the first 3/4s are silvered, the bit of glass near the metal cap is still pretty orangey.

Will def go for the leds.

LED's may give you a bulb out error. Do a search for silvertec bulbs
