Default car just doesnt feel that fast

hey all, had my gsi a good week now and tried it out on a proper test drive tonight, am i over expecting performance? i know its a big car and not a turbo but just doesnt seem to throw me back in my seat like i expected, should i take it to a rolling road? how much does that usually cost and noticed trackings out, how much does that usually cost? cheers in advance

Tracking - It is well worth having a 4 wheel alignment doing. Yes it is expensive but could potentialy save you a fortune. Have a look at this site LINKY! and see where your nearest center is (cost approx £65), all these centers have the Hunter Kit which is awesome at getting things spot on. The money saved by not getting incorrect tyre wear (crabbing, toe in toe out, steering wheel miss aligned, scrubbing etc...) and again excess stress can be caused on other running gear parts due to miss alignment which can cause them to wear quicker too (track rod ends, inner tie rods, STEERING RACK as well as shocks and springs).

A rolling road run will cost approx £50ish depending on where you go, there are often meets done at rolling road places for certain regions and if a number of cars can group together they can secure a group discount. Last thread I read it was going to cost the guys £35 each. Have a search on the forum for rolling road meets.

It is a big car as you say but also a relatively big engine, I have not drove one but I too would be expecting something special from it in terms of performance.

i know what you mean..Its not a m3 killer or nothing like that..iv got a s3 and i think thats allllot faster then the vec...Its the size of the vec. Tune it up maybe? But yeh i wouldnt say its anything special but yeh it can put it on most cars on the road and does make people shocked at how fast a big car can go...BTW all my mates say all the time that it doesnt seem that fast inside but if you stand outside and see it shoot off then its like a rocket..But i have no way of testing that...

well to a full tank im getting around 230 to 250 miles... most of them miles are steady driving, that normal??

thanks for info aswell, i know its hardly going to be a race car but when i put my foot down it seems like im forcing it to move instead of the power coming naturally, cant really explain it, would i be best taking it to a garage and asking them to have a look at it? its cost me a fortune so far to put right, seems i bought myself a rotton egg love the car to bits but i didnt plan on spending what i have had to, ok the tax is unaviodable but the cam belt, tyres, tracking and whatever is causing this sluggishness is bugging me, id be tempted to get a remap but ive heard it will eat gearboxes and vauxhall had to de-tune the standard map because of this
