"It said part of the problem was that one in 10 young drivers claimed not to be aware that having motor insurance was a legal requirement"
Is this because 1 in 10 young drivers are an immigrant? and dont give a ****
I heard this on the radio earlier, it is worrying, when some spotty kid in his "sooped up" corsa soundsystem trashes your car, and he has no insurance...
If you took all the uninsured drivers, Immigrants and unroad worthy vehicles off the road - motorway's would look like the M6 toll!!! EMPTY
Well they all blame it on being too expensive..Well Im 19 now started driving when i was 17..Had astra paid 1700 pounds insurance..Now have a vectra 3.2 and pay 3300 pounds..All i can say is if they cant afford the insurance then dont get a car...Walk or use a bus...Or Get another job and pay for it..Simple as..And for the excuse of We didnt know it was a legal requirement Damn thats just taking the P*** who doesnt know that you have to have insurance even my 11 year old brother knows.
I'm 25 and always had cars above a 1.6 and always been insured and never paid that much!
Read this on the BBC news site and I'm not that surprised. The attitude of why should I pay seems to be common amongst certain age groups.
My next door neighbour actually shopped his own son to the police for going off on his moped with no license (he had applied for one as the wife co-signed it), tax and insurance. It was quite funny watching him sitting in the traffic car all meek and mild compared with the usual attitude.
Moped was taken away by the police. He got a £75 fine, 3 points and a slap on the wrists because he's only 17, if he was 18, the fine would have been much higher. He's now thinking about getting a car...........Though the neighbour has said that the son will be homeless if one turns up..
I'm 19 got 1.9 eliteauto cdti and pay £1100 which isnt too bad considering my mate is paying £2048 on a 1.25 1999 fiesta! Big up the scooter no claims hahaha!
