Hi
Recently bought a vectra (infact bought it y'day )
The CD player doesn't seem to be taking any copy CD's in. Haven't tried any original CD's yet to be honest. Why do you think it isn't working? Do I need a new CD player?

iirc dont think they play copies - only originals soemthing to do with not reading the table of contents
0-Large smile ......every time it's driven
Could be the quality of the disks. The op needs to try an original really.
I may be wrong but it has to do with what colour the written side of the disk is and how fast the disk was written hth
True some players don't like the dye, normally best to get some decent quality silver and write at a slow speed.
The CDR2005, and CCR2006 for that matter, can be a bit fussy about what type/brand of CD-Rs are used in it. On my CCR2006 I got some cheap CD-Rs instead of using my normal branded make that I use on the PC and it didn't like them. Switched to the branded make (Verbatim) and it played them fine.
As said above, try an original disc first just to check the unit is okay - then try a different brand of CD-R. Start with a decent brand like Verbatim, TDK etc. and you should be fine.
Yep, my 2005 plays CDR's all day long.
Just checking!
When you burnt the CD did you burn in MP3 format??
CDR2005 cannot play MP3 files that's all. Mine plays copied discs fine or make sure you finalised the disc as again the CDR2005 cannot read non-finalised discs.
Bri.
Are there no issues with the CD lasers going out of alignment like the CD70's do.
My CD70 CD drive is slightly out of alignment, and so sometimes replies that any of my CD's are an "INVALID DISC", and then spits them out. Doesn't matter if they are originals or copies!!
I understand that the worse the alignment, then the less chance it will work!
Just a query / suggestion as I have no experience of the half-can radios...
