    Default service and 1st mot

is due tommorow. Its booked in with main dealers, been quoted £230 does this sound about right. I checked they are gonna use 5 w 30 oil and change batteries in both key fobs, what else should they do ?? as i dont trust em.

Car has only done 18300 miles so everthing should be ok regarding mot hopefully..

£230 inc MOT? If so that's a good price i'd say.

Is this an interim service or main?

    Interim, yrs 1,3,5,7 etc.

    Main, yrs 2,4,6,8 etc.

As it's the 1st MOT, that would suggest it's an interim service, in which case the quote sounds a bit expensive.

If it is an interim service then as a comparison I recently paid £160 for that and an MOT for my 2.2 direct injection. The correct price should have been £190 or £195, but I got a discount because I asked about the ½ price MOT offer that is on Vauxhall's website. The dealer I used wasn't participating but did me a deal anyway.

The MOT "voucher" is on the LH side of the following link. You need to register and log in to be able to see which dealers are participating.

If its a main service, the brake fluid should also be changed.

Yep it was interim service, cost me £169.99 had to have a new indicator bulb as the old one was showing to much white ?? and also had to have my tow bar shield plate thingy removed as it was obscuring the view of the rear number plate. They also informed me that my front tyres were approaching the legal limit and would need changing shortly, cost for nct eagles would be £120 each fitted and balanced. They also offered to put my tow bar plate shield thingy back on for free if i wanted when i go back for tyres, how very kind of them..

You're not seriously considering replacing NCT5's with more NCT5's?
