Does this engine have an EGR Valve??

and is it located in an obvious place??

Mates Astra Coupe is displaying symptons of an egr valve in need of cleaning.

So if its got one lol.. we'll clean it lol

It does mate, on the RHS of the engine, drain the radiator first, small plug bottom left hand side, pull, twist

its a 51 plate astra...

i know its a petrol 2.2 ... jumped the gun in thinking it was a direct

Same as mine mate. The EGR can be blanked. There is no coolant involved in the SE only YH.

so is it as simple as just making a blank plate and attaching it?

Take off EGR, fit blanking plate, bolt EGR to side so its not flying around the engine bay, and keep it connected to the loom so no fault codes come up. Blanking plate is a VX item, only costs 3-4 quid.

Nar, his fuel pump might go as he drives to the dealers to get the blanking plate................
