    Default You blokes are great...

I had the dreaded "limp home mode" activate recently on my 2.0DTI.

I immediately thought that this was going to costa fair few quid to correct.

However, after reading a few posts on here the potential problem was the EGR hose.

After taking off the engine cover there was the little b*gger, a one inch split in the hose.

Hose has been temporarily patched until I can source a new one but the problem has been fixed, thus saving me a few bob.

Therefore, I would like to say a massive THANKYOU to you blokes on here helping out blokes like me.

If I ever get the chance to stand a few beers, I will......!

I took the hose off and tightly bound several layers of gaffer tape around; once done a put a few large cable ties over it and then refitted.

It will not last forever, just long enough for me to get a new hose.

Well done to you too for having a look and not only finding the fault but actually temp fixing it too. We'll with the money you've undoubtably saved you can always spend £15 on becoming a full member and supporting the site??

I'd say this site has saved me a fortune so far with one thing and another (spent loads in other ways though with the odd modification).

So a BIG 'WELL DONE' to all.

    Bri.
