    Default Vectra Edition 100

I have just totaled my Vectra Edition 100, someone ran into me at speed at a junction and took the front of the car clean off

Bumpers, Lights, grill the lot gone in an instant, I was luckly I wasn't killed if he had collided with the drivers door, but instead hit the front.

I think its gona be a write off as the passenger door is also jamed shut

Engine, wheels untouched and still started first time as recoverary drove it onto lorry.

My question to you all is wots this baby worth as write off materal?

A standard vectra of this age book price would only be about £2,600?

What sort of price should I aim to haggle for from my insurance?

53reg was in Excellent condition, inside still is? 69K miles and has a 2K ICE and sat nav still fitted?

any help please? wot could I get if I sold it for spares?

Don't think it will be worth more than a standard SRi mate.... silver seatbelts can't cost that much!

Plus rear wing spoiler, unique 16-spoke alloys. Only 500 made. Price difference used to be about £500 like-for-like, which is admittedly no big deal.

    Glad to hear your ok.
If it is a write off, I'd guess you'd get more than £2,600. You'd be a lucky guy to find a Edition 100 for that price, pretty sure you should get what it costs to replace not a book price that doesn't mean anything. Print off some Edition 100 on autotrader with similar age millage and you should be able to use this as leverage to the insurance company as that would be what your car should be worth.
TBH I've never written a car off so don't know the process, but If I was to write mine off I'd want back from insurance co. what its gonna cost to buy the car at the time it was written off!

There is currently three edition 100 on autotrader ranging from £4695-£5490. Don't get sold short!

Yea loads of ppl buy cat d/c write offs the way to get a cheap car. You could put it back together and make money from it. I work for a garage that buys cat d/x maybe the odd c not that often, get the puts in from the mail deal and put back togther some times you wouldn't even know it's been hit. Some write offs just need a door or abit of filler and piantd job done!!!!!

parkers means sod all, or at least it has when i've been looking at cars. If you want the same again , you'd be looking to pay min £4500 for a good clean one. Thats what i'd be after.

I'd be happy with that, so worth haggling a bit then? I was only going to get £2000 trading it in against a new (Well pre reg 09) Audi A4 Quattro SE 3.0L but two days before I totalled it they offerred me £3000, so could end up being better off writting it off lol
