Talking to myself !
http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/vaux/owner...do?method=view
Says 5w/30 on the VX site so have bookied it into National , they have agreed £35 all in with no extras to pay like tray removal !
Got it done today, they charged £28 didnt say anything, result !
"It says GM-LL-A or GM-LL-B oil specification"
Means sod all to me dunno what that means , its done now anyhoo
The oil has to meet that specification
Its printed on the bottle, either on the front, rear, or both
If you don't have access to the bottle, then ask the supplying agent if it meets that
I found that even my local VX dealership wasn't using that oil and VX gave them a right royal heehaw about it
They now have a disclaimer sign up in all their VX dealerships
"We use 10w40 oil in our servicing
Vauxhall recommend oil that meets GM-LL is used
In order to maintain your warranty please request this oil to be used
We may charge extra for this alternative"
As earlier, Kwik Fit use this oil on request, but soon realised the oil filter alone was nearly £40 and so refused to provide the service
National too can use this oil on request, but don't seem to have caught on to this expensive oil filter, yet
I asked if they could do it and they said yes, even though I gave them all the engine details!

Well its done now, im not driving a 35mile round trip to ask to read the bottle
If you are going to gets yours done and they have quoted a price i would ring up and book it in before they change it
My car is under the VX Complete Protection Plan, so all my servicing is "free" until November
I was only curious as to the price so that I know what to expect for my final year of "free" ownership
I am probably going to pay for one service the week before the warranty expires (as the car won't be due a service), as well as MoT, and ask the dealership to go over the car with a fine tooth comb to check for any parts nearing failure and advise accordingly
After that oil changes will be done every 10K miles, with services every 20K miles, but keeping to the GM-LL-B-025 oil as it the just about the same price as standard 10W-40 oil (the 3.0 V6 CDTI needs 8 litres, so I need to buy two bottes at £50 which leaves some for topups)
Ironic, National Tyres charge £34...
