Unhappy need the ultimate ice advice.....please??

    hey guys and girls

i know this has been asked many a time but im seeming to discover much confilcting informtion on various websites,

i have a 2004 1.8 club, it has "rolley buttons" on steering wheel (full can-bus?????) and basic display (only temp and date NO mpg)

I wanted to replace stereo with aftermarket h/u but i will need a double din facia adapter, do i have colour options for 2004 or is it only facelift that comes in colours because my dash is a metallic brownish colour??? and all i can find is black for 02-05 model year??

for the steering wheel controls you will need a can based control unit autoleads do them i think with seperate patch leads for the different makes of car audio.

Hi, have a look at this website and see if you can find what your looking for LINKY!

What stereo have you got at the moment? CD30 CD40 CDR2005 CCR2006?

If its a 30 or 40 then you have a 2digit stereo and if its 2005 or 2006 then this is a 4 digit stereo.

Next are you wanting to replace your existing unit with as single din or a new double din unit (for facia)?

Finaly, the patch lead you require for steering wheel controls to work are Head Unit manufacturer specific. If you buy a JVC head unit then you'll require the JVC patch lead if you buy a Sony head unit you'll need the Sony patch lead and so on...

My guess is your brown ish colour is probably the gunmetal colour? Post a picture then we can see.

In conclusion I believe you will require:

    Connector:

    PC99-X80 or CTSVX002 - Canbus stalk Adaptor

ISO Connector with Steering wheel controls: Just depends if your car is canbus or not. (If it's NOT canbus and with small display you will require PC99-X06 or if it's NOT canbus and have large display you'll require PC99-X45)

Steering wheel control Patch Lead: - Stereo Manufacturer Specific!

    PC99-SON For a Sony unit.
    PC99-JVC For a JVC unit

JUST MAKE SURE YOUR NEW STEREO IS 'STEERING REMOTE CONTROL READY' !! Make a point of asking before buying.

Facias: All facias for Vectra C or Signum will fit as the OEM stereo's are the same size all way from 2002 to 2009 just choose correct Din and correct colour, forget about what heading thay are listed under.

    FP-19-00GN - Single Din Gunmetal

    CT23VX13A - Double Din Gunmetal

Sure does matey it's like De Ja Vu!

Anyway, Vec C Wanabe I see you have a CD30 with small display and the scroll wheel steering controls.

You will require a a Facia Kit (obviously) for either a single Din unit or a Double Din depending on what din your new head unit will be.

The leads you will require are:

PC99-X80 Adaptor/connector that plugs into the existing connections in the car. This lead has the steering wheel control box for the steering wheel buttons to work, you now need the correct patchlead for the manufaturer of the headunit you buy.

PC99-JVC Patchlead if it is a JVC stereo you go for then you will need this lead* which plugs into the new JVC headunit and into the PC99-X80 steering controls control box.

    * Note The patchlead is stereo manufacturer specific and you need the correct one for the manufaturer of your headunit. The other thing is you must make sure your stereo is 'Steering Remote Control Ready' this is very important otherwise you'll have nowhere for the patchlead to plug into on your new stereo and the steering controls wont work, so make a point in asking before you buy your new unit.

All the connectors and leads are plug and play, you can't really plug the wrong one in or anything so it is very easy.

No worries, mine is not much to look at just now, pretty bog stanard but I'm slowly working on it. You could have popped in for a cuppa and a chat.
