Question Highest profile 19" tyre on Vectra?

    Hey guys,

Just wondering what the highest profile tyre you can get on a 19" is?

Usual one's are 235/35/19 but I'm thinking of perhaps getting 40/45's for a bit more comfort and reducing any damage! :P

    Anyone any idea?

True - hadn't thought of that. I'm currently running 225 / 45 / 17 and the speedo is slightly out - lower by a few MPH! I'll have to check see what the difference is!

    Just checked here: http://www.paspeedo.com/calculator.htm

At lower speeds - 30MPH its only 1 or 2 MPH more.
At higher spees - 70MPH its 3-5MPH more

Thats for 40 or 45. Not too bad Still worth it - so is this possible, what profile will be ok size wise in the wheel arch of a Vec C?

Not a good idea, as said you will knock out the gearing and the speedo, and as there are no other 19" tyre used, there is not a grouping on tech 2.

You can have the tyre group changed on Tech 2 to take into account 225 45 17" tyres.

Don't even consider it. You will be fitting a tyre not intended for the car, if you have an accident your insurance will be very interested as the car's handling will also be effected.

No, there too big, Our Freelander 2 runs 235 55 19" and they are massive compared to the correct 235 35's. So 40/45 series tyres will be too big.
