    Default CD70 Volume Problem

When I was out just before the volume on my radio was quite high. When i turned engine off and got back into the car it would only stay quite low. On a scale of 0 - 20 if the sound was 15 when it was on " loud " now it will only go to a maximum of say on the scale 7/8.

Any ideas why? I have switched the engine off, locked doors and got back in and that worked a few times but then after that it wouldnt work. Also the volume seemed to mess up when I put a new cd in

Not sure if it helps, but...

I believe if the radio has been working at quite a high volume, it will get quite warm..
To protect the circuits, the Canbus system will reduce the power through the circuits to allow the head unit to cool down again.
Obviously reduced power equals reduced volume.

If it doesn't return to normal after a reasonable rest / cooling off period, you could suspect any of the following...
    1) Cooked head unit..
    2) CIM gone on a wobbler
    3) Volume settings and / or entire head unit require resetting / setting up.

You could re-insert you original language disk, or your current update disk, to refresh / reprogram the CD70.
Otherwise pull the fuse for approx 8 hours (overnight) to see if this does the trick!!...do the fuse bit firstI think!

I've had a wierd problem for a few months now (no, not that problem!) when I first start up and the radio comes on, there is no treble, then if I touch the volume control on either the radio or the wheel, the sound brightens up, the treble is there. I have had it to the dealers and their guy said he can't find a problem, but I drive the car every day and I know there is a problem.
