    Default project green wheels

following on from my thread the other day http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90146 i have undertaken my project on refinishing a set of astra alloys to replace the standard alloys on my signum - they alloys will still be sixteens for the moment as i had literally only just purchased new tyres in the last month - the alloys were an impulse bid on ebay and i was surprised when i won them with tyres for under£130 so drove to wokingham near reading to pick them up that night pole(5 hour round trip and didnt get back till nealry 2am) sorry tad[ was gonna pop in for a coffee but it was very late
wednesday i got to work and found that in the cold light of day the alloys were fairly scuffed and marked and set about removing the tyres - when you ask someone if they know how the tyre machine works - make sure they really do know before they help in scraping even more metal off of the lip of the alloy continued on next part of the thread with more photos

and this evening i have just finished the first two coats of green on the wheels - the camera wont always pick up the colour it seems to overload the colour sensor

there were some runs from the second can so tomorrow i will be rubbing those down and applying another two coats before 4 coats of lacquer and then leaving the alloys to "set and harden" for 3 -4 days before considering polishing and applying any rubber

submitted for your consideration and comments so far - more photos to follow tomorrow

    thanks
