Don't think it possible without spending big bucks mate, probably cheaper to buy a 2.0t. Not saying it can't be done but i think there will be alot of tech 2 involved as well as the mechanical work.

no its totally different, the Z20NET is a Saab lump and the Z20LEH is a Vauxhall/Opel lump. the exhaust manifold is at the front on the LEH as where its on the back on the NET.

If you have the ECU from the astra i think it would be possible, but you do need to look at the fuel tank/fuel lines as they my differ a bit you will probably need custom engine mounts made because i am guessing they are different. the rest would be Tech2/Opcom work really changing parameters etc

Put it this way, no transplant for a different engine has ever been done on a Vec c ever. There is a reason for that.

On another note, when the new Astra is launched the VXR engine is going to be a development of the Insignia 2.0T, which in turn is a development of the NET, so there could be some more options out there in years to come.

The NET actually originates from an old Lotus lump, its one of many derivative's one of which is the GM 2.2 and (Z22SE, Z22YH), uses the same block, Saab head, but the 2.2 has a longer stroke to give it its extra 0.2cc.

I thought the Insignia 2.0T engine was an American GM one and not derived from the Z20NET, and had previously been used in the Opel GT.
