    Default mgn

    Hello all

I am a brand new Signum convert. To be honest I did not have a clue what a signum was until I started looking for a business vehicle to lug things around in.
I bought an 04 Elite Auto 2.2DTi with 16k genuine miles.
For the money the car is great and I plan to run it "til death do us part" but I do have a couple of questions you knowledgable people can advise me on.

The car handles like a ferry on anything but motorways. I have allways preferred a firm ride so this now feels like a marshmallow.

What do you suggest is the best way forward with money being an issue?

The car seems to be very low and I can pull the front splitter off with ease when reversing away from kerbs etc. Is this normal?

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    hi m8 and welcome
most of us have changed the spring and shocks to bliesten shocks and eibach springs all in about £300 + fitting.
if the splitter is loose just check the plastic rivits 5 in all that hold it on.
the rivits are about 20p each from vx.

    to the site,

Hope you enjoy your new Signum .

As said above, change them awful OEM Vx springs and shocks to:

    Springs: Eibach Pro Springs

Shocks: Blistein B4 Shocks front and rear. Although if your going to be lugging lots of kit about you may want to opt for the B6 rears.

Also look around for prices LMF are good but they get some of their parts from Eurocarparts.com

Just got mine on today (Vectra C 2.2DTI Hatchback) and boy! What a difference. They are so much stiffer without being hard and the ride is so smooth too. Loving them. Also lowers my car by 30mm from the standard suspension so that's a bonus! Will lower sports suspension by a further 15mm.

    Bri.

    Default Signum 2.2 Elite ish

    Hello all

Many thanks to all who replied to the suspension woes of my Signum Elite. I have asked Santa to drop some bits down the chimney.

I have had the car for about 4 months now and clocked over 10,000 miles. It's a testiment to the car that £5k gets you something that you don't have to think too much about. By that I mean it gets driven a lot but I can never remember driving it. Comfy, quiet and decent quality.

I do have another tester for you all though. The central locking on the tailgate has gone a bit pear shaped. All the doors open except the boot. If the cars has been locked overnight and I double click the key fob, all the doors open but the boot flips to the first notch (halfe open).

I bought a new black box inside the tailgate but the problem is still there. I am thinking it is electrical and possibly the switch on the door pad, though this still beeps when pushed.

    Any thoughts please?
