    Default Sick of vectra's again

    hi all i have a 2.0t vectra and the problem is i took it out the other day and every now and then the dump valve was delayed or not going off at all then it went into safe mode i took it home the next day i re routed the vaccum pipe direct to the inlet manifold,i took it out again and all seem'd well i thought it did it once but wasn't sure,then i took it out again and it was playing up again then going into safe mode its asif the dump valve ain't opening quick enough it has a brand new bailey trumpet on it and a standard bailey dv36 and both arn't working so i know it ain't the dump valve its really doing my head in,i did the accelerator and brake trick and it come up 02 sensor but there is no emission light on and sureley that wouldn't cause the problems i have though cheers in advanced all

    remove the aftermarket valve and see what happens. Did you disable the vx one?
    Then learn that not every reply is instant as most are at work!
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    I would love to help m8 but haven't got a clue as not dealt with that engine before,have you done a search for a similar porblem????

    hi mate the dump valve has been on since 60,000 as i used to own this car before and all was well with itcould it be anotherproblem wich could cause this problem or there's a vacuum solinoid nr inlet manifold

    TBH I would remove it and see if that is giving the fault. If its slow to operate as you point out then it could lead to excess air in the system throwing up the code on the 02 sensor - probably being out of range - as the exhaust mixture is wrong and it cannot compensate for it.

    I take it yours isn't an electronic dump valve and is purley vac operated? There must be a vac there so imo it still points to the valve.

    It is where I would start before I went any further, even if just to eliminate it from the fault finding.
