Wink k&n filter + trip computer

hi all, (again) can anyone tell me if it's worth putting k&n air filter on? are they easy to fit? do you have to notify insurance etc etc? also cant figure out inst. consumption on trip display, everything else on it i can do but the fgures are always changing anywhere between 0-999 even with everything reset, cheers.

The Inst consumption changes all the time, it is an instant reading, it will go to 999 when you take your foot off the throttle and are still moving, and go to 6mpg when you boot it !!

The K&N is highly reccomendeed, it totally changed the drive of mine anyway, lot quicker pickup and flatspots were removed ....

New engines are very clever beasts, when you are rolling under momentum and the engine is being turned by said, the ECU will completely turn off the fuel to the engine and thus you get 999mpg on the display.

So when you are coming up to a round about or lights, don't coast, leave it in as high a gear as you can and you will use less fuel.

As for the K&N, panel filter maybe, cone, no way.

I do recommend a air filter, panel or a induction kit, i do have my own recommendation but i do not want to start a debate about whats the best out there. If you go for a induction kit make sure you get a really good cold air feed to it.
As for insurance company's, you either inform them of ANY modifications or you dont and take a chance. I know when i recently change my insurance over that all my mods have been listed but the only problem really occured when i informed them of the Viper induction kit did put insurance companys off but a panel filter in the existing box was not a problem. Privilege insurance took me on no problem.
    Cheers

panel filters are OE parts no need to inform insurance.

K&N clogg up quicker than paper and cost more to clean.
