Default Storage Space - Where is it? LOL

Why does a car like the Vectra/Signum have such miniscule storage space? The blurb gives you the impression that the Vectra and Signum are all about space, practicality and comfort.

    If that is the case.......

...Why are the door pockets so thin that your hands get stuck everytime you go looking for that spare bit of cheese that jumped out of the sandwich you accidentally dropped between your wedding tackle a few days earlier?

...Why is the storage tray under the aircon unit so narrow that your mobile phone always gets jammed under the AUX socket, then dials 999 on loud speaker so you can tell the emergency services why your hand is stuck in the door pocket?

...Why are the cup holders so small and shallow that you have to buy two egg-cup sized McDonalds coffees instead of one large one, then both of them fall over on the first bend you go round and scald your mother-in-laws odd-shaped feet through her new flipflops, as she sits there asking you why your hand is stuck in the door pocket?

...Why is the ashtray so small that you can only store 1p coins, instead of 50p and £1 coins? Filling a carpark ticket machine with 1p's takes 45 minutes in order to get your 30 minute parking ticket!

...Why is the centre armrest storage compartment so small that you can't sellotape your Springer Spaniel in there to keep warm whilst you nip to the supermarket for 3 hours on a hot summers day - that's just so cruel?

agree about the cup holders, they could have made them a bit deeper, they are only useful for 330ml cans unless you're motorway driving with no bends.

Haha very funny! They do have loads of space in the side compartments in the boot Well.. i managed to squash half the world in there lol. I also found that when the centre seat us up on the signum theres loads of space under there for things like.. tax free cigs or illegal pornography or something.. I dunno.. don't forget the little storage bit in the back above the ashtray.. big enough for em.. a small pocket of air..

Mind you hald my stuff gets stored under the seats as it rolls around on the floor. Never find it til I give her a hoover lol

Those points are so true, not had too much of a problem with the cup holders though. They are far far better than the missus's Focus. Try using the rear ones and get a thinner phone, on top of that don't eat in the car or stop being a slob and dropping your cheese everywhere. Problems solved! LoL

VW/Audi definately have the cooshtiest cup holders. Its like a novelty fun item for blokes to play with. Different cool design every time lol. I bet they are the oens who invented the dampened handle on the ceiling. No real need for it.. but its Engineering genius!!

They double up as a mouse trap to keep those pesky vermin away!

Vauxhall/Opel were so far ahead of the times when they designed it. They predicted that phones would be a lot smaller. It's a shame the phone industry couldn't keep up with them! The problem lies with the phone manufacturers.

It's an alternative safety feature for cars without ESP. It helps you drive around corners more carefully thus more safely!

Because the car costs so much to run, that most owners don't have any money left except the odd 1p.

This feature would never have worked, because there is nowhere in the car to store the sellotape for such an occasion.

Very good..very good!!. I couldn't agree more about the useless storage space for such a big car. I have evn tried jamming Mcdonalds Coke in the cup holders with the little slidy door that covers the holders. This doesn't work either!!! That centre armrest looks positively cavernous right up until the point when you open it and then .....such an anti climax. The story of my life!!
Signum, are you still attached to the door card? Does this not get in the way sometimes?
