Default How fast will alloys corrode?

Hi guys just wondering if anyone can give me an idea how long polished/machined finished alloys are likely to last before the start to perishand look naff. Thanks

Depends if you kerb them mate - they'll start to peel and corrode when you give them a chance to if you knock the paint off and allow access to the elements a lot quicker than if you just leave them sat around... I don't imagine brake dust will do them much good either...

    Really depends how well:
    A:They are finished
    B:They are looked after

Brake dust is corrosive so they need to be kept clean and any damage fixed asap

I get your point though polished wheels look smart but it doesn't always last long

The reason I ask is that most sellers say they will not guaranteepolished or machined alloy where as painted ones do. I just dont want to spend £700 plus to find them looking ruff in the next couple of years, fair enough if I kerb them or don,t wash them reg.

It's a risk mate but I personally wouldn't go for a polished rim. If ya damage them then it can cost alot to get it put right again.
