    Default Brake Squeal

    Hi,

Well my 2003 1.8 SXI Vectra had some Brake Squeal so i went about putting copper grease on all the pads. It helped but still under heavy braking or braking from high speeds its squealing.

One thing I did notice which i got worried about was one of the rear pads had actually worn unevenly and was not flat. So one side of the pad was thicker than the other side. I thought the disc may be warped but it looked fine and felt fine?

What could of caused this and is this maybe the reason its still squealing? Any recommendations as to what pads I should get to replace it?

    Thanks

I'd put my money on dirty slider bolts mate. The can get a build up of dirt and stop the outer caliper moving properly. Take them right out, clean them up, WD40 will do the trick, put a little copper slip on them and bang them back in. Plenty of copper slip on the back of the pas and on the pad runners should sort you out mate.

Also it could be cheap pads with hard spots causing the squeals?

    Default

discs could be warped if there is no history of them being changed i would renew all, but buy a new set of pads for the ones that have worn unevenly.
