    Default should this worry me?

just been looking through the paperwork of my 3.2 gsi and theres 2 failed m.o.t's from this year and last year, both have the failure sheet saying brake pads very low

old one has brake pipes as a fail aswell

new one had discs aswell as suspension coils fail

could it just be the previous owner driving like a **** thats making it wear through brakes like that or do the gsi's just go through pads and discs like it does fuel?

I think you have lost confidence and are now looking for faults where there may not be any. Probably wear and tear items. Maybe he drove like a **** but you will never know so why worry.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

true i suppose, but having never owned a car like this i guess im going to worry a tad more than the usual, i know when i first got a diesel i was the same lol, think it has been de-catted at some point though as it failed m.o.t on "exhaust part missin" would i be right thinking that, i know a decat doesnt necessarily mean a bad thing as i was thinking of doing it myself but as i dont know the implications myself im going to question it

Perhaps he drove in stop start traffic, perhaps he drove too close to the car infront, perhaps he drove over the hills...don't worry it failed and it was fixed.

Very true, every car I have bought has needed something doing to it pretty quick after buying. The de-cat all depends on which cats have been removed as the V6's have 3, two precats, one on each bank and a third in the centre exhaust. Still, I am surprised it failed as the MOT doesn't require a cat, just the emissions to be below the limit. Unless the exhaust had been damaged and has now been fixed.

Dont worry mate ! It had to be fixed for the MOT ! Those parts as others have already said are wear and tear items. Also the cars a car for a driver !! Not a 980cc smart car for shopping in next and the local florist !!

Well thats why it failed. he should have still carried it out. he probably didn't know about the pre cats in the exhaust headders. If in doubt, nip down to an mot centre and bung them £20 for a quick emmisions test

Mark gsi3.2 removed his with no problems

so i can decat it and not worry about it as long as it passes the emmisions test? or would it be better to just get the cat put back on before the next m.o.t
