    Default wheel cleaner

What do you all think of Meguires wheel brightener, I was reading about it, is it any good,I want to get my car PVS worthy and have some spots that might be brake dust or tar, I have tried tar remover and polish even claying, I have got a lot of it off but I am probably being to fussy, but I would like them literaly spotless, will the wheel brightener get the spots off, or can anybody recomend somthing that will. Cheers.

its a very strong acid and even diluted should only really be used infrequently. Use it to get the wheels clean, then keep on top of them by weekly washing and you wont need to use a wheel cleaner.

Whether it will get the spots off i dont know. It depends what they are. If its just tar, then i would think wheel brightner will do the trick.

It gets very good reviews on DW but you've got to buy a large container, 5 litres I think.

Have you removed the wheels? Try removing the wheels, it will allow you to get better access than crouching down, trying to scrub something low down. Get them off, put them on a work bench or something, and give them a good scrub. As has been said, wheel brightener is very strong, so it would get them clean, but shouldn't be used to often, and as its a 5 litre container, it will probably outlast you. I've always found hot rims to be good, and a good brush.

Not heard about Meguiars myself, don't know how good it is. Wonder Wheels is the one that usually wins all the magazine tests... it's extremely good.

As Andy says, try to limit it's use and wash regularly with normal wash solution, although WB is safer than Wonder Wheels which can make a mess of the wheels. Try using clay on your black spots, always worth saving some used clay for this.

There is a sample offer on DW at the mo for 500ml which will give you 2.5lts........I think it's £6 delivered

Also as has already been said only use WB occasionally and do one wheel at a time............actually by the sounds of it you would be better taking the wheels of so you can give them a really good "deep" clean
