Default Spacers. Are they a bad idea in the long run?

Hi guys! I'm pretty happy with the wheels i have, the only thing that bugs me is that they don't sit as wide as say, snowflakes or ronals. This is because they are 7.5j ssw's.

I was thinking of perhaps getting some spacers to push them out, but am always wary of those mods which may be alright at the time but screw with the integrity of the car.

Do people have opinions/experience regarding the running of spacers. I was thinking 30mm plus on each hub (perhaps a tad less on the front) in order to be worthwhile aesthetically.

    Thanks in advance guys!

    Nick :-)

The only real problems they can cause is unusual handling in extreme circumstances, and premature bearing wear due to the wheel sitting further out putting more stress on it

    Cheers!

Wonder is it best to get some made at a local steel fabricators or just buy them as a kit, perhaps from germany?

With wide wheel spacers and lowered suspension, is there enough clearance for all likely positions of the wheels on suspension travel & steering with the risk of the tyres rubbing the wheel arches in the wings????

    Cheers

Ah never thought about that. Probably best to check how much clearance you have before getting them. Problems probably wont be with rubbing on the calipers, suspension but as you say rubbing on the inner arches. Remember that the wheel will go into the arch while driving so allow for this
