Default Fitting Door Handle Lights/Neons On A Vectra C

Me and my mates are taxi drivers who own Vectra Cs and are getting fed up of the continous question from our passengers ( some slightly drunk on times, admittedly, but also those of the older generation ) asking, especially at night, " Where's the door handle? ". Does anyone know of an " how to " that explains how to illuminate these handles? I've done the brilliant mod of the rear courtesy light without the wiring loom and that was fantastic but the door handle issue is a constant annoyance. Found a German thread as posted here:

    http://www.vectra-forum.de/anleitung...-c-signum.html

The trouble with that particular thread is that no translation tool that I've tried explains it clearly enough and I don't want to balls it up. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated as I'm sure that this mod would be a great benefit to many others.

I've just put the link into google and it's offered a translation. It's not perfect, but might be of some help.

Following the translation, I see you're referring to the inner door handles. When I first saw your question, I thought you were talking about the exterior ones. Might be worth PM'ing a moderator to ask him to change the subject header for you to avoid others making the same mistake that I did.

Thanks for the replies. I think I've got the gist of it but I'm a bit unsure of which legs of the transistor go to where and are there power cables which I can feed off in the back doors of a Vectra which does not have rear electric windows?

Use a resistor to limit current to the LED, normally 20mA.
