    Default LPG conversions

after seeing the real fuel consumption on the ride home in my 3.2im thinking about maybe getting an LPG conversion, my brother thinks you get a grant towards this aswell, im not sure ill do it yet as i did know about the fuel issue but he brought it up and if i can get a good amount towards it might be worth doing, anybody done this to a 3.2?? if so whats the drive like after its done? its not likely ill do it but its nice to know my options

From an LPG installers web site:

"Well let's put you in the picture on this with a bit of a history lesson. Way back in the good ole days there was a grant available which was roughly £700. Only certain vehicles were eligible and the kit supplier bumped up the price of the kit to cover the cost of developing their equipment for best emissions on a particular vehicle. The installer also increased their costs somewhat.
The good news is that you can now get a car converted with a better system for about £100 more but without the red tape or special conditions (if you received a grant and sold the vehicle within 3 years then you had to give a percentage of the grant back! If you only kept the vehicle for 2 years then you had to give a 1/3rd of the grant back)
The grant days are gone but the systems are better and cheaper."

If you do the mileage then you will get it back, but it's quite a lot of mileage and by the sounds of your other post mate there are other things that need doing first...

tell me about it, i didnt exactly buy a 3.2 v6 for economy coz at the moment i have a works van i can use for private stuff so its more of a weekend car, but how long ill be at this job is another question, i planned on keeping this car a while and thought i may end up with a 40-50 mile daily comute so it would be an option, doubtful but always best to know your options i thought, as said though, only worth it if ill do the milage, even 4-5 miles to a job wouldnt be worth it
