    Default What engine will fit?

    Morning all,

After driving the vectra for a few weeks now I feel that it is really really slow. Its only a 1.8vvt engine but feels very sluggish. My last car was a celica GT4 so its a huge jump down.

Now what I was wondering is what vauxhall turbo'ed engine will fit? Will a engine from a mk4 astra (Z20LET) fit or does it need to come out of another vectra?

    Cheers

I think due to the complex wiring, its a real hassle. Considered the 2.0 T ?

if i am correct then because of the CanBus electrical system in the vectra, you will have to have a stand alone ecu for what ever engine you put into the vectra..a 2.0 Turbo lump will go in but as stated you will need the whole lot inc ECU

Probably not worth all the hassle it will bring. Might be the best option to sell the one you have got and get "say" a 2 ltr Turbo.

Most engine swaps just aren't economically viable these days, even the 2.0 and 2.2 diesels aren't straight swaps.

It's not like back when you could put a 3 litre into a 2.5 litre Granada or even put the rear diff on a 3 litre onto your 2.5 and vice versa. Those were the days. *sighs*
