    Default Front bumper paint

Had my car four months and nearly 5000 miles now and, as I've just said in another thread, am generally delighted with it. The one bugbear is that the paint on the front bumper appears to be very soft and chips very easily. Anyone else had this problem - is it the norm?

The front bumper of our nearly four-year-old Mondeo estate has not suffered from this problem, though the rear did, but the cause in this case was being hit by stuff being put in the boot. The way the paint lifts so easily is very similar on the two cars. Fitting a rubbing strip cured this on the Mondeo, but not really practical on the front of my Vec!

I have it on my 30,000 mile 03 plate. Quite a few little dinks.

I'm in exactly the same boat mate. I wish I knew a remedy, but it's just one of those things I think.

i also find the section between the top of the headlights on the bonnet suffers to, i have done 15k miles of motorways in the last 10 months in mine, and it has suffered, as mentioned b4, the mk3 mondy i owned didnt seem half as bad,

last week i went to my local VX to get a touch up paint set ( black sapphire ) and put quite a few of the nicks right , they didnt turn out to bad either,, only £4 from VX , so quite pleased
