Default 2.0T Engine Revs slow coming down!

Does anyone else think that the RPM on a 2.0T are very slow in dropping back to tickover? I need to use my car for responding to emergency incidents (I am a Fire Officer) but the revs are so slow in dropping back to tickover that it makes the car judder.
    Does anyone else have this?
I have taken it to the stealers but they say that the slow dropping of RPM is deliberate! I thinks they are talking a load of rollocks.

I would also like to know this as my grandpa's Peugeot 1.4 is doing the exact same thing!

The 2.0T's are renouned for dropping their rev's slowly - mine does this too although there is no juddering.

Only happens on cold start on mine, but no judder. The higher initial revs are down to intentional over-fuelling to prevent engine stall (like the old-fashioned choke). Doesn't bother me at all. It's better than having a diesel where the revs drop too quickly for comfort!
