I know that I have posted some pictures of my Insignia on here and some members have commented that Vauxhall still can't get the right colour match between plastic and metal so I had a moan.
It was in everyone's opinion getting worse. The bumpers had started to look almost magnolia and after three trips to the dealer to complain, yesterday they actually all agreed that it looked awful. the more you look at it the worse it gets.
I also had a good moan again about the lines where the headlights and bonnet meet and how the headlights are set differently so they agreed to have the car inspected by the local Vauxhall customer relations manager. I also insisted that I was present when he carried out the inspection.
Today it went in to have it's new gear stick and turret fitted to solve the gear problem so they said they would call him in today. When I got there today to pick up the car he had just arrived so we went out and first of all as with the other staff he said you will never get a perfect match but then when he saw the car in the correct light once the sun had gone in he agreed straight away that it was terrible. He also agreed that the panel lines weren't right so he got his little gizmo out that detects the thickness of the paint to see if the car had had a respray but no difference in thickness so that eliminated that but he did say that they were out of the tolerance aloud so how did that get through quality control.
Anyway the parting shot was "Can we have the car for the whole of next week so we can rebuild the front half and he wants all the plastic panels removed and painted again until they are a perfect match". He can't understand why there is such a difference with the colour but at least he didn't try to fob me off and to agree to rebuild the front half I suppose isn't such a bad result. lets just hope they don't make a complete pigs ear of it.
