Default Bumper/Body joint Modification VX Field Fix.

Some of you may have seen me moaning about the poor alignment of my front bumper on my Insignia, especially on the drivers side, where there is a 3 to 4mm gap, and the bumper protudes out at the side about 3 to 4mm too.

The dealer has had 2 attempts to improve it without much joy.

I have now learned from a member of another Insignia forum that VX/Opel released a re-work field fix for customers who complained about this issue on 28/7/09 Something my own dealer was not aware off. I believe its also being implemented at assembly point too.

The Rework number for the Insignia for anyone with this issue is.

09-FR-47. The dealer has to add a fixing clip, Part Number 9316835

This Rework was released on 28/7/09 so there is no excuse about your dealer not knowing about it.

This is a picture of the joint on my front bumper, remember this is a brand new top quality german car. Built to a higher quality than any other VX.Opel car ever built previously, I know this, because VX told me so. and also remember the dealer has already tried to improve this twice already.

So, if your bumper alignment is poor, it may be worth mentioning this VX fix to your dealer.

Have you got any pics of the post Field Fix alignment?

Just interested to see what difference it makes. Sounds like someone at your Vx dealer needs kick up the rear end as they are not doing their job properly by keeping up with the Field Fix updates (especially on the newest car in fleet).

    Hope it works,

    Bri.

No I dont, the info was only passed to me today from someone in the trade who's a member on one of the dedicated Insignia forums.

He mentioned a few days ago he thought he had seen something mentioned recently about it, and said he would do some checking, and came back with the details today. I would assume its some sort of stronger clip/clips which they fit to pull it into place. I hope it works too.
