Default CD70 & CID Fitting advice for Estate

Well I went and did it and bought the CD70 unit with the CID (MY2008) from the same car along with the Aerial base. It is to replace my CD30 and GID and the seller ensures me that the units are paired so they should play together nicely.

I have a few questions for the CD70 gurus out there ...

    1. The setup came with the Aerial base with inbuilt GPS and washer - As I have an Estate the rear washer is separate from the aerial so does anyone know what kind of aerial bases Vauxhall made i.e. is there one without a washer inbuilt or do I leave my old aerial and move the GPS?

    2. Will the loom from the Hatchback reach to the Aerial base on an Estate?

    3. What is this in the blue plug on the back of the CID for? Is that the RGB? I already have a plug going from back of CID to CD70.

    4. Along the loom from the Aerial base is a 2 pin connector (blue and black wire) what is that for?

No doubt I will be back agin with some more questions when I get the CD30 and GID stripped out of the car ...

Also got an OPC / VXR Steering Wheel (ex Astra or Zafrira) with Piano Black trim today from a guy in Germany - but that looks a hell of alot easier to fit than the CD70 ...

    TIA

You can put another GPS antenna with the good connector.
    Something like this -->
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GPS-ANTENNA-FAKRA-VW-mfd-2-3-mfd2-mfd3-rns2-rns510-510_W0QQitemZ220460498023QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CE_ GPS_Accessories_Software_ET?hash=item3354783c67&_t rksid=p3286.c0.m14

    3. What is this in the blue plug on the back of the CID for? Is that the RGB? I already have a plug going from back of CID to CD70.
The little blue is for GPS antenna, the little white is for the Radio antenna from the back of CD70 NAvi.
The blue from CID is the connector with the CAR, if you have GID will found it there. The black connector is for RGB cable which connect CID and NAVI. Must have it because is very expansive.
And CD70 NAvi must have one big FAKRA connector for speakers/power supply and CAN bus. That's all.

    4. Along the loom from the Aerial base is a 2 pin connector (blue and black wire) what is that for?
Don't know, one photo will be better.

    YES ... no problem !

Tell me if your car is 2002-2003 or after 2004 ? Did you have now some remote controls ?

christian its a 2008 model he has...

awilson -> remember the how2 (eventually also to www.opelpower.dk )

The cd70 is more easy to retrofit than a ncdc into a halfcanbus cars... as a lot of wires need replaysing and put in to get working.

    Default More info (Picture Heavy)

Ok, so some pictures might help ... This was supposedly removed from 2008 vectra ...

This is the setup and loom:

Kit I guess is from a hatchback hence the washer in the Aerial base. The parts for connection to the CD70 and plug marked Red in the next photo:

The end in the next photo does not look like the standard quadlock - and this will not connect to the CD70.

Is this a standard connector for a CD70 because it does not look anything like the CD30 and the Aerial and GPS signal end up in the 3 central circles in the last but one photo.

Also as the original thread says there is a 2 pin plug along the loom to the aerial with 1 black and 1 blue wire - does anyone know what that is for?

Hope this makes it a liitle easier to explain ...

    TIA

That large plug looks like the one that goes to the kickpanel in the drivers footwell..

your current plug for the cd70 match the cd30.

you actually only need the screen, cd30, rgb-lead, and a satnav arial.. if you dont bother having a roof mounted one, just get another from ebay that says fackra (blue plug) that will fit..

Thanks Kenp - I guess I will skip the roof loom as it is too much hassle and just use the quadlock off the CD30. Let's hope I can get the CarPass off the guy although there is Code 0070 painted in Yellow Nail Varnish on top of the CD70 unit so I am hoping that this is the code. Is there anyway to get the Radio code from opel?

Looks like the How2 will not be too hard to do though

The car is MY2008 and has the standard grey steering wheel plus buttons but now I got a nice OPC one ...

Can't wait to get it fitted ... just have to wait for the rain to stop and CD70 to work

the carpass code is only 4 digits.. so maby.. no you cant get the kode from opel.. as you need VIN from donorcar..

thats one nice steeringwheel just it wont fit mine as i have the 6 button type and 4 spoke.. i have to get the irmscher one..

Forgot.. if we say the 0070 is the code.. you can also retrofit the bluetooth module to the CID

you can allways sell the roofloom to another member.. as it will fit the hatch..
