    Default Help with decision ....

Hi I am still on look out for a Signum but am still trying to sort funds and find the right car . I am also undecided on weather to go for a 3.0 CDTI facelift or go with the 1.9 CDTI 150 . I had the 150 in a Astra XP 06 plate and had a new EGR and Inlet manifold fit under warranty but the Signums I can afford (7.5K) wont have any warranty remaining so could be costly . I have no knowledge of the 3.0 CDTI and any known issues but there does not seem to be the same EGR, Swirl Flap, DPF issues in the little research I have done .

Sorry for the long post and thankyou for reading any help is relly appreciated and will help me from buying a Lemon

P.S There aint a lot about either especially the 3.0 CDTI .

DOn't buy a 3.0 if you want to tune it as the high pressure fuel pumps don't like it. There are a few on here how have had or are having problems but they seem to be much less than the 1.9 150's.

The EGR's do soot up though.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

If i get a 150 i will tune it but not a 3.0 CDTI . We get about 35 ish to gallon out of Astra 1.6 now but I only got 38 ish out of Astra 1.9 CDTI but it had DTUK green box on so will I get better with a 3.0 CDTI . I do about 11 mile to work mainly motorway .

Is the EGR the same as the 150?

No the EGR is different as its an Izuzu engine. I get 35-38 round town but not a lot more than 42 on the motorway. (V6 cdti)

There is something rather addictive about the 300 lbs/ft of torque the V6 cdti produces mind you!!!

I would be happy with that as I always thought I would get more out of the 150, with people on astraowners quoting 50-60 mpg but I never did and the car was fully serviced with fresh oil every 6000 miles .

I got a V6 Sig Elite last year from a Vaux dealer 53 plate with 70K miles. Cost me £6K with a years warranty. They are out there for the price you say. I love it. Bags of power and sounds good!

If you go armed ready to make a sale you will get money off that figure, I bet on the right day with ready cash you could get a good £500 + off. If you want it offer £7k !!!
