    Default EGR update - solutions

    now then

following previos posts on a fault with my 150 cdti, this is the latest.

the car stutters/hesitates/judders at a different point in the revs. its mainly around 1500 rmp but as the fault got worse as did the range in which the fault appeared. now following advice on here and elsewhere i cleaned the EGR valve, better at first but then the same, and now replaced the EGR valve, lots better and only done 20 miles since replaced, but the fault is definatly still there. only slightly but never the less it's still there.

what now? someone metioned problems with torque bearings, possible or not? also the fault has started to affect the turbo. as the fault gets worse the more it affects it. it comes in later and the overall performance of the cars drops.

help before i put a match to it!

    Jenko,

The connector cable is dodgy, that's all.

Parts from VX should cost £12. All you need is to be competent with a soldering iron.

why injector 3? heaven only knows. All the connectors look identical to me but it's only ever number 3 that goes as far as I can tell.

I think its a case of heat from engine etc causing the plastic of the connector to break or whatever and the subsequent exposure of the electrical contacts within to elements causes corrosion and a lack of conductivity. That might well be a load of bunk but I cannot think of any other reason for it!
